Messiah Sing!
“Messiah” Sing!
From the early years of the Cumberland Oratorio Singers, the group performed Handel’s Messiah each holiday season as a gift to the community. It became known as the Walk-In Messiah as community members were invited to bring their music scores and sing along with the chorus and orchestra, and later became known as “Messiah” Sing! Past soloists have included members of Cumberland Choral Arts, singers from the Fayetteville area and other parts of North Carolina, as well as singers from European choral companies. Venues change from year-to-year to move the concert around different areas of Cumberland County. For many singers and audience members, the holidays don’t truly begin until Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus rings through the rafters.
With concert venues closed during the 2020-2021 season due to the pandemic, Cumberland Choral Arts was unable to perform the annual concert but collaborated with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra to bring a virtual version of “Hallelujah” to the community.
As the tradition continues, please join Cumberland Choral Arts and the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, December 10, 2022, 7:30 PM at Berean Baptist Church. Hallelujah!
